Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Christies held the auction Julians Park and Six Private Collections: Live, which included the work A Race Meeting At Newmarket With Tragonwell Frampton (1641-1727) And Other Riders by John Wootton. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 80,111.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Wootton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Hunting Party; Possibly Depicting Charles Spencer, 3Rd Duke Of Marlborough (1706-1758) And His Wife Elizabeth, Countess Of Marlborough (D.1761) in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 577,250.00 (€ 735,261.35).
