Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Walker could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Composition No. 5 changed hands for GBP 525.00 (€ 602.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Oceania III in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 9,987.50 (€ 11,487.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Walker konnte im Juli 2011 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Composition No. 5 für GBP 525,00 (€ 602,52) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Walker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Oceania III im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.987,50 (€ 11.487,81).
