The work Landscape N°584 by John Virtue was sold in the Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in September 2017. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,272.12), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Virtue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape No. 87, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).

Die Arbeit Landscape N°584 von John Virtue wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.272,12) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Virtue mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07) versteigert wurde.
