Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape 853 by John Virtue was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,718.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Virtue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape No. 87 in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape 853 von John Virtue wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.718,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Virtue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07).
