Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Landscape 206 by John Virtue was worth GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,404.37) to a buyer in March 2018. This price was achieved in the auction Made in Britain at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by John Virtue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape No. 87 in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).

Die Arbeit Landscape 206 von John Virtue war einem Käufer im März 2018 GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.404,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Virtue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07).
