Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Virtue could be acquired at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction auction, the work Landscape 120 changed hands for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,789.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Virtue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape No. 87 in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Virtue konnte im Juni 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Land, Sea, Sky: Online Auction wechselte die Arbeit Landscape 120 für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.789,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Virtue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07).
