Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Street Scene by John Virtue. The price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,124.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Virtue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape No. 87 in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Street Scene von John Virtue zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.124,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Virtue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07).
