Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape 207 by John Virtue was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in March 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,420.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Virtue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape No. 87 in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,196.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape 207 von John Virtue wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.420,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Virtue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape No. 87 im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 47.196,07).
