(lower left) and with inscription 'Miles Branthwayth 3d. son of Arthur/by Ann Dr. and heiress of Thomas Bacon Esq. who was 2d son of Sir Francis Bacon of the Bacons of/Hesset in Suffolk and one of/the judges of the Kings Bench/in 1642, Miles Ob: Nov. 1751 and/was buried in the family vault/at Hethel.'
