Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship, which included the work Trajan’s Forum, Rome by John Stanton Ward. The price achieved of GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,371.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Stanton Ward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 13,125.00 (€ 14,804.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trajan’s Forum, Rome von John Stanton Ward zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.371,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Stanton Ward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.125,00 (€ 14.804,60).
