This artwork by John Stanton Ward achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2018. In the Annabel's auction, the work The honeymoon (i); A couple seated outside Florian's (ii); Interior of Florian's with portraits on the walls and umbrella stand (iii) sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,511.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Stanton Ward - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 13,125.00 (€ 14,804.60).
