This artwork by John Stanton Ward achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May last year. In the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction, the work St. Peter's, Rome sold for GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,816.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Stanton Ward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 13,125.00 (€ 14,804.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Stanton Ward erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship wurde die Arbeit St. Peter's, Rome für GBP 2.394,00 (€ 2.816,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Stanton Ward auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Annabel's, Study for The Founder Members im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.125,00 (€ 14.804,60).
