The work Mont Blanc and the Lake of Geneva from the Jura, Switzerland by John Ruskin was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,115.08), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mont Blanc and the Lake of Geneva from the Jura, Switzerland von John Ruskin wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert.
