In September 2016 Christies in London held the auction Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector, which included the work Anna Maria van Thielen (b. 1628), aged about five, after Van Dyck's double portrait of her with her mother Anna van Thielen by John Ruskin. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,581.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ruskin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 274,050.00 (€ 393,402.83).

Im September 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit Anna Maria van Thielen (b. 1628), aged about five, after Van Dyck's double portrait of her with her mother Anna van Thielen von John Ruskin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.581,24) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ruskin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bellinzona, Switzerland, looking north towards the St. Gotthard pass im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 274.050,00 (€ 393.402,83).
