Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dover Castle by John Mulcaster Carrick was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 501.90 (€ 753.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by John Mulcaster Carrick have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fishermen off a rocky coastline, Italy; and The Italian Riveria in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,247.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Dover Castle von John Mulcaster Carrick kam im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 501,90 (€ 753,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Mulcaster Carrick auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fishermen off a rocky coastline, Italy; and The Italian Riveria im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.247,26).
