This artwork by John Mulcaster Carrick achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in September 2021. In the An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection auction, the work At Cannes, France sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,108.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Mulcaster Carrick; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fishermen off a rocky coastline, Italy; and The Italian Riveria sold at auction in June 2014 with the realized price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,247.26).
