This artwork by John Melville achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in June 2018. In the POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART Paris, Day Sale auction, the work Dancers No. 3 sold for EUR 9,375.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Melville - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chairs, which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28).

In der Auktion POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART Paris, Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Dancers No. 3 für EUR 9.375,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Melville mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Chairs beobachtet, die im November 2019 für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.549,28) versteigert wurde.
