Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Llandridnod Wells by John Melville for GBP 360.00 (€ 515.82). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chairs in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Llandridnod Wells von John Melville für GBP 360,00 (€ 515,82) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Melville erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chairs im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.549,28).
