Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John McLaughlin could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Number 9 changed hands for USD 113,775.00 (€ 110,215.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John McLaughlin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work V-1957, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 516,500.00 (€ 437,230.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John McLaughlin konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Number 9 für USD 113.775,00 (€ 110.215,05) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John McLaughlin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit V-1957 beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 516.500,00 (€ 437.230,17) versteigert wurde.
