Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ships Sailing Off Greenwich Palace by John Lynn was sold in the Old Masters auction at Sothebys in London in May 2017. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,356.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Lynn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,250.60).
