Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work A frigate in two positions off Table Bay, Cape Town beyond by John Lynn. The price achieved of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 15,105.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Lynn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,250.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A frigate in two positions off Table Bay, Cape Town beyond von John Lynn zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 15.105,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Lynn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 28.200,00 (€ 45.250,60) versteigert wurde.
