In November 2013 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A Racing Cutter Of The Royal Yacht Squadron Beating To Windward Offshore by John Lynn. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,857.99), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lynn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,250.60).
