Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Royal Yacht visiting the Isle of Wright by John Lynn was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Bonhams in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 5,700.00 (€ 4,841.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Lynn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,250.60).
