Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Lynn could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Online | Part I: Property from the SØR Rusche Collection | Part II: Property from Various Owners auction, the work Revenue Cutters And A Frigate Off The English Coast changed hands for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,974.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Lynn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily off the Mediterranean coast with a xebec off her port bow in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 28,200.00 (€ 45,250.60).
In der Auktion Old Masters Online | Part I: Property from the SØR Rusche Collection | Part II: Property from Various Owners wechselte die Arbeit Revenue Cutters And A Frigate Off The English Coast für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.974,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00.
