This artwork by John Jackson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2010. In the The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages auction, the work Portrait of Sarah Spencer (1787-1870), wife of William, 3rd Baron Lyttelton sold for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,104.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Admittedly, works by John Jackson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Antonio Canova (1757-1822), half-length, in a black coat and white cravat in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,055.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Jackson erzielte im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Sarah Spencer (1787-1870), wife of William, 3rd Baron Lyttelton für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.104,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Jackson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Antonio Canova (1757-1822), half-length, in a black coat and white cravat im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.055,64).
