It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,055.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of Antonio Canova (1757-1822), half-length, in a black coat and white cravat is the most expensive artwork by John Jackson that we have observed at auctions so far.
