Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Towards the bass rock by John Houston for USD 375.00 (€ 304.51). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 700.00 – 900.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Houston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Towards the bass rock von John Houston für USD 375,00 (€ 304,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Houston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37).
