Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lilies in a Landscape by John Houston was auctioned at Bonhams in Paris in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,152.00 (€ 1,322.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Houston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lilies in a Landscape von John Houston kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.152,00 (€ 1.322,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Houston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37).
