Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Birds over dark hillside by John Houston was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The price achieved of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,153.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Houston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds), which sold at auction in October 2000 for GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Birds over dark hillside von John Houston wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.153,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Houston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37) versteigert wurde.
