The work Cornfield after the storm by John Houston was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,912.50 (€ 2,225.24), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Houston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).

Die Arbeit Cornfield after the storm von John Houston wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.912,50 (€ 2.225,24) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Houston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37).
