The work Light on the Sea, Evening by John Houston was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 4,845.00 (€ 5,740.02), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 62%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Houston; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) sold at auction in October 2000 with the realized price of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).

Die Arbeit Light on the Sea, Evening von John Houston kam im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in Edinburgh zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.845,00 (€ 5.740,02) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 62%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Houston; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) im Oktober 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37).
