Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Houston; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) sold at auction in October 2000 with the realized price of GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).
