Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Autumn Garden, Kyoto by John Houston. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,374.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Houston have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2000 the work Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) was auctioned for GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,640.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Autumn Garden, Kyoto von John Houston zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.374,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John Houston konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2000 die Arbeit Sunset over the Forth (from North Berwick Golf Club showing Fife and the Lomonds) für GBP 5.640,00 (€ 9.640,37) versteigert.
