Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Class (Olympic High Diving Champion Marjorie Gestring), 1936 by John Gutmann for USD 750.00 (€ 643.94). This price was achieved in the auction The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M. Hunt Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Gutmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work First Drive-in Theatre, Los Angeles, 1935 in September 2006 with an auction result of USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,620.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Class (Olympic High Diving Champion Marjorie Gestring), 1936 von John Gutmann für USD 750,00 (€ 643,94) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Unseen Eye: Photographs from the W.M.
