Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Gutmann could be acquired at Phillips in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work Sailor Girl Tattoo changed hands for USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,451.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by John Gutmann have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2006 by the work First Drive-in Theatre, Los Angeles, 1935 at USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,620.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Gutmann konnte im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit Sailor Girl Tattoo für USD 3.810,00 (€ 3.451,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von John Gutmann wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2006 die Arbeit First Drive-in Theatre, Los Angeles, 1935 mit USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.620,95).
