This work of art by John Grillo could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Open House auction, the work Summer Flight changed hands for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,107.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Grillo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in August 2020 for USD 47,500.00 (€ 39,795.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Grillo konnte im Januar 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Open House wechselte die Arbeit Summer Flight für USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.107,14) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Grillo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im August 2020 für USD 47.500,00 (€ 39.795,58) versteigert wurde.
