A top price for John Ahearn
When the work Victor and Ernest by John Ahearn was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2017, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,988.66). This high result makes Victor and Ernest the most expensive artwork by John Ahearn that we have observed at auctions so far.
