Auction result well in line with expectations
The work José by John Ahearn was auctioned at Phillips in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,620.00 (€ 7,008.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Ahearn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Victor and Ernest, which sold at auction in September 2017 for USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,988.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit José von John Ahearn kam im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.620,00 (€ 7.008,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von John Ahearn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Victor and Ernest beobachtet, die im September 2017 für USD 21.250,00 (€ 17.988,66) versteigert wurde.
