Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Environs de Dordrecht by Johan Barthold Jongkind was auctioned at Christies in Paris in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 16,380.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Johan Barthold Jongkind have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sailing on a sunny day in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 144,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Environs de Dordrecht von Johan Barthold Jongkind kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 16.380,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johan Barthold Jongkind auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sailing on a sunny day im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 144.000,00.
