Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bain, bateaux-lavoirs près du Pont-Neuf by Johan Barthold Jongkind was auctioned at Christies in Paris in March last year. It changed hands for a price of EUR 7,560.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johan Barthold Jongkind achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sailing on a sunny day in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 144,000.00.

Die Arbeit Bain, bateaux-lavoirs près du Pont-Neuf von Johan Barthold Jongkind kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 7.560,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johan Barthold Jongkind erzielen.
