Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Railroad Workers by Joe Jones. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,132.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joe Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cornfield in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 89,372.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Railroad Workers von Joe Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.132,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joe Jones auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cornfield im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 89.372,37).
