This artwork by Joe Jones achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2013. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Back Alley sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,188.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joe Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cornfield in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 89,372.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joe Jones erzielte im April 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Back Alley für USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.188,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joe Jones auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cornfield im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 89.372,37).
