Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Early Summer by Joe Jones was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 125.00 (€ 93.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joe Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cornfield in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 89,372.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Early Summer von Joe Jones im Februar 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 125,00 (€ 93,57) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joe Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cornfield im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 89.372,37).
