Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Triangle Player by Jocelyn Hobbie. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,607.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jocelyn Hobbie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spider Web And Blonde, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 34,030.80).
