Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Joan Eardley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Scottish Art auction, the work Drying Salmon Nets sold for GBP 63,000.00 (€ 73,967.93) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joan Eardley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beggars In Venice, which sold at auction in August 2008 for GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Joan Eardley erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit Drying Salmon Nets für GBP 63.000,00 (€ 73.967,93) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joan Eardley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Beggars In Venice beobachtet, die im August 2008 für GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08) versteigert wurde.
