Upper estimate price exceeded by 28 %.
The work Haystack by Joan Eardley was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,999.50), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Eardley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Haystack von Joan Eardley wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.999,50) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Eardley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
