Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Catterline by Joan Eardley was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in Edinburgh in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 17,850.00 (€ 20,795.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Eardley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggars In Venice in August 2008 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 209,875.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Catterline von Joan Eardley wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Scottish Art bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.850,00 (€ 20.795,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Eardley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggars In Venice im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 169.250,00 (€ 209.875,08).
