In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Day For Night, Christiania 1996 (The Children'S House Depot) by Joachim Koester. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,280.00 (€ 1,758.04), 52% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joachim Koester have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, 1991 in January 2024 with an auction result of DKK 10,000.00 (€ 8,739.73).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Day For Night, Christiania 1996 (The Children'S House Depot) von Joachim Koester zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.280,00 (€ 1.758,04) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joachim Koester auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, 1991 im Januar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 10.000,00 (€ 8.739,73).
