Auction result well in line with expectations

In April 2015 Phillips in London held the auction Under the Influence, which included the work Frozen Footnotes - 1 by Jitish Kallat. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,299.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jitish Kallat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April 2015 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Under the Influence durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frozen Footnotes - 1 von Jitish Kallat zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.299,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jitish Kallat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.780.000,00 (€ 274.673,21).
