Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Daily Spillage (1) by Jitish Kallat was sold in the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 5,151.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jitish Kallat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Daily Spillage (1) von Jitish Kallat wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 5.151,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jitish Kallat erzielen.
