Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Friendly Fire (Clouds in the Water) - 32 and 36 by Jitish Kallat was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,670.00 (€ 5,111.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jitish Kallat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Friendly Fire (Clouds in the Water) - 32 and 36 von Jitish Kallat wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.670,00 (€ 5.111,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jitish Kallat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.780.000,00 (€ 274.673,21).
